Back in December, the Bearcats managed to sign their recruiting class of 23 players.  They’ve added two, huge transfers to get to the limit of 25 new players for the 2021 version of the Bearcats.  We’ll examine these new players and who’s most likely to contribute in 2021.

The Bearcats travel to Atlanta for their 3rd ever match-up against the Georgia Bulldogs on New Year’s Day.  I break down the Georgia Bulldogs.  Why the 2020 team has a better shot than the 2008 and 2009 teams to win the program’s biggest bowl game.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend as Cincinnati knocked off the Tulsa Golden Hurricane with a last second FG to win the AAC Championship in a deluge Saturday night. They were then selected to play Georgia in the Peach Bowl Sunday afternoon.

After a 28 day layover, a couple of COVID related cancellations, multiple positive COVID-19 cases in the Bearcats football program, a screwjob by the CFP committee, and a couple rough losses in basketball; the Bearcats football team is finally back!  The Bearcats return to Carson Field to take on Tulsa in the AAC Championship game (8PM on ABC) in front of a frenzied crowd of 1500 5878 fans.  (Edit: Thanks Mike DeWine and Enquirer writer Jessie Balmart)

The Bearcats came into the season with some high expectations, starting this season at #20, the highest preseason ranking for a Bearcat team ever.  Going into their second consecutive AAC Title Game and having reached the highest ranking for a Group of 5 school in the College Football Playoff poll, the Bearcats had a shot to crack into the playoffs, that is of course, until the CFP Committee showed their hand on 12/8/2020.

What a year.  The last time, before today, that our website was updated was Wednesday, February 19.  The schedule had just been released a few weeks prior, we had already had hotel rooms booked at a number of upcoming road games (including Nebraska), and we were getting ready to start thinking about the potential for the 2020 season.

Then Covid happened.

This week was a big week for the ‘Cats as they went to Orlando and knocked off the Knights in the Bounce House 36-33 and then got some huge news from the College Football Playoff selection committee.  Also, with this week’s cancellation against Temple they’ve punched their ticket to the AAC Championship Game on 12/19.
