The Bearcats came into the season with some high expectations, starting this season at #20, the highest preseason ranking for a Bearcat team ever.  Going into their second consecutive AAC Title Game and having reached the highest ranking for a Group of 5 school in the College Football Playoff poll, the Bearcats had a shot to crack into the playoffs, that is of course, until the CFP Committee showed their hand on 12/8/2020.

What a year.  The last time, before today, that our website was updated was Wednesday, February 19.  The schedule had just been released a few weeks prior, we had already had hotel rooms booked at a number of upcoming road games (including Nebraska), and we were getting ready to start thinking about the potential for the 2020 season.

Then Covid happened.

This week was a big week for the ‘Cats as they went to Orlando and knocked off the Knights in the Bounce House 36-33 and then got some huge news from the College Football Playoff selection committee.  Also, with this week’s cancellation against Temple they’ve punched their ticket to the AAC Championship Game on 12/19.
The #7 Bearcats took the wind out of the Pirates sails on Senior Night, going back to the locker room with a 55-17 victory.  Bearcats Desmond Ridder and LB Jarrell White won American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Awards for their performance.
In memory of Alex Trebek: Which NCAA Division I Football Team won by 28 points and fell from #6 to #7 in this week’s AP Poll?  If you answered the Cincinnati Bearcats, you would be right.
Your 2020 Cincinnati Bearcats are now 5-0 and the #6 team in the country.  The Memphis Tigers came into Nippert Stadium absolutely clueless and got shellacked 49-10 on a sunny Saturday at Nippert Stadium.  Things are looking toward having a special season and starting the New Year off right in a major bowl game or even… the College Football Playoff.
I was writing last week’s email when the news dropped that our game last week against Tulsa was postponed until 12/5.  As of today, it sounds like everything has worked its way out and the Bearcats are in good shape for this Saturday’s game against the SMU Mustangs.

Looking ahead: 2020 Bearcats football schedule Update – 12/08/2020:  We lied.  It wasn’t coming soon, like everything else 2020, everything went to hell with keeping the site updated.   Updating this…
