09/18/21 – Cincinnati Bearcats @ Indiana Hoosiers

We’ve had this one circled for a while!  Even before the lead up to 2021, with a Top 10 preseason ranking and more NFL talent than UC has ever fielded on a single team, Bloomington is a relatively easy road trip against a typically beatable team.

Our crew will be traveling up on Friday afternoon, checking into the Hilton Garden Inn, and hitting up the local bar scene on Friday night before an early start Saturday.  We’ll be heading home immediately after the game and look forward to some post game celebrating before the inevitable traffic mess on Indiana 46 heading back towards Interstate 74.

We will continue to update as plans get finalized.

Tailgate info:

What:  The Republic of Cincinnati takes over Bloomington, IN!

When:  Saturday, September 18.  Kickoff time is 12pm, we plan to have the trailer in place by 6am (or as soon as the lot opens).  We will start tearing down the tailgate around 11am with intentions of starting the walk by 11:30am in order to get to the stadium (and hopefully to our seats) well before kickoff.

Where:   We will be parking in the Bell Tower RV lot (1630 E 17th Street, Bloomington), which is a little over a 1 mile walk to the stadium.  While this might seem crazy compared to our on-campus, urban tailgating, this is right on par for other Big 10 schools we’ve visited, including Illinois, Purdue and Ohio State.  We will joining our friends (and Grid Alley neighbors) #BearGate and their RV, along with anyone else that wants to join.

The Bell Tower lot is located in the bottom right of the following maps:

Menu:  TBD

Who:  All are welcome!  This is a “community” style tailgate – BYOB.  We always have extra food, but plan accordingly if you intend to eat.  Most importantly, come prepared to have fun!

You’re welcome (and encouraged) to contribute – feel free to bring some “community” beer to throw in the big, white cooler or stuff some money in the donation box located near the food table.  Contributions are not required but go a long way to helping our tailgate to grow.

Please help us spread the word and feel free to reach out to us with questions/comments via twitter, facebook, or the comment form below.
